PLANE OF OBSERVATION is an imaginary plane that is perpendicular to our direction of observation. It is such a plane on which we seem to project our observations of all objects. Since we can generally make observations in all different directions from us, we can replace this plane with an OBSERVATION BUBBLE that completely surrounds us as observers. The ideal OBSERVATION BUBBLE has the surface shape of an ideal sphere. But we can represent it with some accuracy as polyhedrons, which have a surface composed of PLANES OF OBSERVATION. It turned out to be most advantageous to represent the OBSERVATION BUBBLE as a polyhedron whose walls, i.e. the PLANES OF OBSERVATION, form identical equilateral triangles.
